Building Connections and Sharing Knowledge of K-12 Online Teaching Practices During the Pandemic and Beyond

Abstract

The question of how educational researchers could engage school districts to develop meaningful and productive research partnerships may have felt disconcerting for many with continuation of remote, hybrid, and online learning in the 2020-2021 school year. The online school district’s research team sought ways to leverage knowledge of best practices in online learning and their existing research partnerships to provide resources for teachers. This article tells the story of how one research-practice partnership developed multiple research-informed, freely accessible resources and expanded the online school’s research during a pivotal time. The successes from this story may encourage others seeking ways to bridge the gap between research and practice.
