Abstract
This document provides an overview of the Philodendron martianum, commonly known as the flask philodendron. It describes the plant’s physical characteristics, including its large, dark green leaves and upright, spreading habit. The plant is suitable for use as an accent, ground cover, or container plant, thriving in deep shade and well-drained soil. It is moderately drought-tolerant but has poor salt tolerance. The document also highlights the plant’s non-native status, its potential uses in landscaping, and its moderate availability. Additionally, it addresses propagation methods and common pest issues, such as mites, scale, and fungal leaf spot diseases. Original publication date October 1999.
