Abstract

This document provides a comprehensive profile of the avocado lace bug, Pseudacysta perseae, detailing its description, distribution, and impact on avocado crops. Originally described in 1908, this pest has expanded its range to include the Caribbean, Mexico, and parts of the United States. The article covers the bug's life cycle, host plants, and the damage it causes to avocado leaves. Management strategies, including the use of insecticides and natural predators, are also discussed to help mitigate its impact on avocado production. First published 1998.
