Abstract

The publication provides an in-depth look at the wild lime tree, native to South Florida and the Caribbean Basin. This small tree, known for its compound leaves with distinct wings and lime-scented foliage, thrives as an understory tree in coastal upland plant communities. It can be grown with multiple stems or trained to have a single trunk. The wild lime is highly adaptable, tolerating both full sun and partial shade, and is suitable for use in reclamation projects, buffer strips, and as a specimen plant. It is also noted for its high drought tolerance and minimal pest issues, making it a resilient choice for various landscaping needs. First published Oct.1999.
