Abstract
This publication provides an overview of the Spanish dagger, a striking landscape plant known for its blue-grey to green, drooping leaves and slightly reddish-tinged, white, fragrant blossoms that appear in late spring or early summer. This plant thrives in USDA hardiness zones 6 through 11 and is highly tolerant of salt, making it ideal for seaside plantings. The document discusses its growth habits, including its ability to form attractive clumps and its preference for full sun to partial shade. It also covers maintenance tips, such as removing the sharp-needled tips for safety, and highlights its use as an accent plant in gardens. First published Oct. 1999.
