Abstract

This document provides an overview of the ‘Xanadu’ Philodendron, a moderately large-leaved, easily grown plant that makes a dramatic, tropical statement in landscapes. It details the plant’s characteristics, including its deeply divided, dark grey-green leaves, growth habits, and suitability for USDA hardiness zones 10 through 11. The ‘Xanadu’ Philodendron is noted for its adaptability to shade, moderate drought tolerance, and preference for rich, moisture-retentive soil. It is commonly used for foundation plantings, borders, mass plantings, and indoor growth. The document also highlights its non-invasive nature, pest resistance, and general availability within its hardiness range. Original publication date October 1999.
