摘要

Examples of applications of equilibrium-based methods for multicomponent separations usually require the use of simulation packages, which do not allow students to follow the involved algorithms step by step. Excel spreadsheets with examples of six such rigorous methods have been used with MSc students of Chemical Engineering of the University of Alicante (Spain), showing a significant enhancement of their ability to apply these methods.

Alicia Font Escamilla is an associate professor at the University of Alicante (Spain). Her research has focused on the experimental determination of phase equilibria and its application in separation processes. Her research and teaching are closely related and, for this reason, she is trying to deepen the knowledge and skills of separation process students. ORCID: 0000- 0003-2469-6391
