Generative AI Submission Requirement (and new CEE Submission Template)
When ChatGPT burst into our lives towards the end of 2022, its use (and that of similar tools) became ubiquitous almost overnight.
Over the course of many months, Chemical Engineering Education (aided by the work from another ASEE Journal – Journal of Engineering Education) has developed and approved a policy for use of generative artificial intelligence (gAI) within CEE.
The policy, which can be found here and is more detailed than what can be discussed in this Announcement, requires individuals to disclose usage of gAI tools within their submitted manuscript. Authors are encouraged to download and use the CEE Submission Template which now includes these details.
As it relates to implementation, this policy will go into effect starting with submissions on 4/21/25.
