Removal of Heavy Metals in Waste Water by Electrochemical Treatment
Abstract
This paper shows the elimination via electrochemical treatment of the cation Cu2+ in a synthetic effluent using a three-dimensional electrode as the cathode. On the other hand, treatment of the effluent is carried out using a two-dimensional electrode. Later, the results obtained in both experiments are compared, and finally, a calculation is made of the economic parameters of the process (current efficiency, energy consumption, etc.) for the experiment carried out with the three-dimensional cathode.
