Racial and Cultural Representation in Children’s & Young Adult Library Collections

Rachael Elrod, EdD, is Associate Chair of Departmental Libraries and Director of the Education Library at the University of Florida's Education Library. She has an EdD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Florida, an MSLS from the University of Kentucky, a MEd in Counseling Psychology from the University of Louisville, and a BS in psychology and sociology from Campbellsville University. Her research interests include the diversity of children's and young adult literature, the online research behaviors of students, and academic library leadership.

Brittany Kester is an Education Librarian at the University of Florida's Education Library. She is currently enrolled in the PhD program in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Florida and has an MSLS from Florida State University and a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida.
