Gasolines of 84 and 95 octanes were evaluated as substitutes for acetone in flotation procedures used for eliminating organic matter from cysts of Globodera pallida extracted from soil by the Fenwick method. There were no significant differences between the numbers of cysts extracted with acetone and gasoline. In addition, gasoline had no effect on the viability of eggs or the capacity of emerged juveniles (J2) to penetrate and develop in potato roots.Downloads
