A Need for Longitudinal Research in Information Access

Abstract

Great strides have been made in freedom of information (FOI) research, but the next step is developing a consistent, systematic measure of on-the-ground FOI compliance across varying jurisdictions, and the resources to make it happen over time. Longitudinal, accurate data could help the FOI community and policy makers improve the public information process to empower citizens and strengthen government accountability.
