The Society of Nematologists at 50, and Where to from Here?

Abstract

Nathan Cobb, as the father figure of the Society of Nematologists, set an example to later generations of nematologists in his studies of nematode biology. In the 50 years of the Society’s existence nematological research has greatly expanded that knowledge base. Opportunities over the next 50 years are boundless in view of advancing technologies and emerging challenges, and this leads to speculation as to what future nematological research advances will enhance peoples’ quality of life.

All material published by the Society of Nematologists (SON), except for papers prepared by United States and Canadian government employees, is copyrighted and protected under the U.S. copyright law. Under the Copyright Act of 1976, the term of copyright for materials registered by an organization is 75 years from the date first published. Before publishing any manuscript, SON requires that authors transfer full and complete ownership of any copyright to SON by signing a JON Page Charge/Copyright Form (.pdf). SON then registers the copyright.
