Copper toxicity on Florida citrus--Why did it happen?

Abstract

Copper has been commonly used on Florida citrus for both nutritional and disease control for about 80 years. About 30 years after its use began a widespread toxicity problem developed. In this paper I will discuss why that happened, who discovered it, and what was recommended to correct it.
