ETHNICITY, IMMIGRATION, AND THE GENDER DIVISION OF LABOR IN MIAMI
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine how gender, ethnicity, and immigrant status differentiate the labor market experiences of Miami City residents. The emphasis is on the foreign-born population. I focus on the labor force status, occupations, and journey to work of White, Latino and Black immigrants in order to see how gender differences in their employment patterns compare with those of non-immigrants.
