Author Guidelines

The Florida Geographer is a statewide journal with coverage of social and physical geographical topics. Most articles are related to the state, or feature Florida figures as an important component. Papers are welcomed from all who feel they have research worthy of dissemination.

All manuscripts should be sent in electronic form. Text should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document (*.doc) or as a rich text file (*.rtf). Authors should submit the final copy on an IBM compatible disk, a CD, or emailed to the editor.

Figures and maps, if submitted separately from the text, should be sent as a JPEG (*.jpg) or graphical image file (*.gif). Please include the figure (table) number and title should be centered at the top of each figure (table) and the source should be left flush at the bottom. Figure (table) numbers and titles should not be in all caps.

Primary headings should be bold but not in all caps, and secondary headings should be italicized. Do not number headings.

Paragraphs should be double-spaced, with the first line of the paragraph indented. There should be no additional line between paragraphs.

Please use in-text citations; footnotes will not be accepted. Endnotes should only be used sparingly.

References should be consistent in their style and should include every source cited in the paper. Please use a block format instead of the hanging paragraph style.
