Descriptions of Nymphs of the Cat-Tail Feeding Delphacid Planthopper Pygospina spinata (Homoptera: Fulgoroidea)
Abstract
Adult male and female genitalia and the first through fifth instar nymphs of the delphacid planthopper Pygospina spinata Caldwell, collected from southern cattail (Typha domingensis (Pers.) Steudel) in south Florida are described and illustrated and a key to instars is provided. Nymphal instars are distinguished by differences in body size and proportions, spination of the metatibiae, metatibial spurs, and metatarsomeres, and by the number of metatarsomeres.Downloads
