Fall Armyworm Symposium--1984: Observations on the Infestation of Corn by Fall Armyworm (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) with Reference to Plant Maturity
Abstract
A series of corn plantings were closely observed for evidence of the effects of plant maturity on infestation by fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith). Plants in the early whorl stage and younger were preferred for oviposition. Plants infested early in their development were less tolerant than plants infested later.Downloads
