Notes on Some "Rare" Eastern Nearctic Tabanidae (Diptera); State Records and Host-Parasite Relationship for Other Species
Abstract
Collection records are given for some of the @'rare@' species of Tabanidae including Haematopota punctulata Macquart, Chrysops cincticornis nigropterus Fairchild, Chrysops fulvistigma dorsopunctus Fairchild, Neochrysops globosus Walton, Hamatabanus sexfasciatus (Stone), and Anacimas limbellatus Enderlein. New state records are noted for Chrysops hyalinus Shannon (Georgia), Tabanus aranti Hays, and Hybomitra trispila (Wiedemann) (Florida), and Haematopota rara Johnson, C. dimmocki Hine, C. fulvistigma Hine, T. aar Philip, and T. wilsoni Pechuman (Tennessee). Also reported are a parasite of the eggs of Merycomyia whitney (Johnson) and of the pupa of Leucotabanus annulatus (Say).Downloads
