Abstract

Carbofuran 4F foliar sprays, soil drenches and a carbofuran 10G soil surface application reduced populations of Saissetia coffeae (Walker) on Aphelandra squarrosa Nees. Oxamyl and oxydemetonmethyl decreased populations only when applied as sprays, while both dimethoate drenches and sprays were effective. Soil applications of aldicarb 10G and oxamyl 10G did not suppress S. coffeae, while DS-15647 (3,3-dimethyl-1-methyl-thio-2-butanone 0-methylcarbamoyloxime) 10G, sprays of CGA-12223 (0-[5-chloro-1-isopropyl-(3H)-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl] 0,0-Diethyl phosphorothioate 4E, and phenthoate 4E provided a significant reduction. Acephate sprays caused leaf drop and carbofuran drenches produced interveinal necrosis of mature foliage.
