Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

APA General Formatting

- Font & Size: Use a standard, easily readable font like Times New Roman, 12-point size.

- Spacing: All text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; including headings and reference lists.

- Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.

- Alignment: Align text to the left; the right margin should be ragged.

- Page Numbers: Include a page header (title of your paper) and page number.

 

 Title Page

- Title: Concise and informative. Avoid abbreviations and jargon.

- Author(s) Name(s): Full names without titles or degrees.

- Affiliation: Author’s Institution.

- Author Note: Brief information about the author(s).

 

 Abstract

- Length: 150–250 words.

- Keywords: List 3-5 important keywords.

 

 Headings

- Use hierarchical headings to organize the paper (e.g., Level 1, Level 2).

 

 In-Text Citations

- One author: (Smith, 2020)

- Two authors: (Smith & Jones, 2020)

- Three or more authors: (Smith et al., 2020)

- Direct quote: Include page number (Smith, 2020, p. 15)

 

 Reference List

- Book: Author, A. A. (Year of Publication). Title of work. Publisher.

  - Example: Smith, J. (2020). Understanding Science. Academic Press.

- Journal Article: Author, A. A., Author, B. B., & Author, C. C. (Year). Title of article. Title of Journal, volume number(issue number), page range.

  - Example: Smith, J., & Jones, R. (2020). New Approaches in Environmental Research. Environmental Journal, 15(3), 123-145.

- Website: Author, A. A. (Year, Month Day). Title of page. Site name. URL

  - Example: Smith, J. (2020, June 10). Climate Change Overview. Environmental News. https://www.environmentnews.com/climatechange

 

 Tables and Figures

- Numbered: Each in order of appearance.

- Title: Brief but explanatory.

- Source/Credit: If not created by the author.

 

 Appendices

- If necessary, provide detailed information in an appendix.

 

 Submission Checklist

- Ensure all APA formatting guidelines are met.

- Proofread for grammatical accuracy and clarity.

- Verify all citations and references are correctly formatted.

 

 Notes to Authors

- Ensure originality of work.

- Disclose any conflicts of interest.

- Adhere to ethical standards of research and publishing.
