A new species of Calospila (Lepidoptera: Riodinidae: Nymphidiini)

Abstract

A distinctive Calospila specimen (Riodinidae: Nymphidiini) with no locality data is described, in the context of a recent generic revision, as C. ignotaterra Hall n. sp. An updated phylogenetic analysis for the genus suggests that the new species is sister to the parthaon + furvolinea clade. Calospila metaensis Salazar & Nielsen, [2018], is synonymized with Argyraspila alma Hall, 2018 (n. syn.).
