Abstract

The mostly tropical genus Capparis Linnaeus is well represented and even dominant in Ecuador. However, the only recent treatment of Capparis for any tropical South American country deals with the Colombian species (Dugand, A. El Genero Capparis en Colombia. Caldasia 2: 29-54. 1941), which differ from those of Ecuador, each country having its own endemics. One of these is herewith described for the first time
