AbstractNewly introduced cherry, plum, and peach rootstocks were evaluated for their reaction to three Spanish populations of M. javanica under greenhouse conditions 120 days following inoculation with 3 000 nematodes per plant. The plum rootstock Citation was highly resistant. The cherry Masto de Montanana and the "Pollizo" plums PSM-101 and Montizo were resistant, although incipient galling was observed in these last two. The remaining materials (Myrobalan 605 AD, Montclar, and GF-677) presented different degrees of susceptibility. The peach almond hybrid GF-677 showed the highest galling index (5.7), final nematode population (16 350), and the highest level of parasitism (2 510 nematodes per gram of root).
