Abstract
A survey of fungi associated with the potato cyst nematodes Globodera pallida (Stone) Behrens and Globodera rostochiensis (Wollenw.) Stone in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) growing areas in the vicinity of Arequipa, Peru, revealed the presence of an extensive mycoflora colonizing cysts. Just over 62% of 800 cysts examined bore fungi. Cylindrocarpon destructans (Zinssm.) Scholten, C. gracile Bugn., Fusarium spp., Gliocladium roseum Bainier, and Ulocladium atrum Preuss were the most frequent species encountered.
