Abstract
Two tests were conducted to evaluate the effect of 3% hydrogen peroxide on the extraction of Meloidogyne exigua eggs from infected coffee (Coffea arabica L.) roots. In the first one, macerated roots were incubated for 48 h in water or in 3% H2O2. Significantly higher numbers of eggs (3:1) were recovered from the H2O2 solution than from tap water. In the second test, the following treatments were evaluated: 1% NaOCl etraction solution without incubation; 1% NaOCl extraction solution plus incubation in 3% H2O2, and extraction in H2O plus incubation in 3% H2O2. No significant differences among treatments were found.
