Abstract

The toxic principle in the culture filtrate (CF) of Fusarium solant (Mart.) Sacc. is thermostable and also independent of the pH of CF The inhibitory effect of CF was due to fungal toxin and unused residues of sugar and salts present in CF. Among the sugar and salts tested, potassium chloride and ferrous sulphate showed maximum inhibitory effect after 48 hr of exposure. The fungal toxin was water soluble.
