Abstract

Tests were carried out to determine the effect of Helicotylenchus jojutlensis on "Honduras" grass under field conditions and on the corn cultivar H-412 in the greenhouse. According to the results, H. jojutlensis was able to reduce about 65% of the development of "Honduras" grass, Isophorus unisetus (Presl.) Schlecht. Results of the greenhouse test with corn are not conclusive because the effect of H. jojutlensis was probably masked by a negative effect (on development of the plant) due to the autoclave soil used.
