Abstract

Bursaphelenchus tusciae sp.n. is described and illustrated. The nematode was found in dead wood of Pinus pinea L. from one locality in Tuscany (Italy) and cultured on Botrytis cinerea Pers. The new species has three lines on the lateral field (seen by SEM only) and a stylet with distinct basal thickenings. The female has an anterior vulval lip forming a small flap, a long postvulval uterine sac, tail ventrally bend tapering evenly to a terminus variously shaped. The male spicules have a dorsally bent condylus with apex more or less posteriorly recurved like a small hook, well developed rostrum obtuse at the tip and no cucullus.
