Abstract

Application of carbofuran controlled Xiphinema ifacolum and Helicotylenchus pseudorobustus in tree nurseries in plastic bags. X. ifacolum affected, although inconsistently, growth of cacao, lime and Citrus volkameriana, but not of soursop and it appeared to be pathogenic on "robusta" coffee. The nematode reproduced actively on C. volkameriana and survived on cacao. X. longicaudatum suppressed growth of "robusta" coffee, but did not reproduce on it nor on lime to which it was not pathogenic. X. ifacolum increased on sweet orange and H. pseudorobustus reproduced on cacao.
