A survey carried out during 1974-1976 to determine the specific composition of plant parasitic nematodes in the Maltese Islands revealed the presence of Ditylenchus dipsaci, four species of Paratylenchus (P. lepidus, P. microdorus, P. neoamblycephalus and P. tateae) and five species of Tylenchorhynchus (T. agri, T. badliensis, T. dubius, T. mangiferae and T. queirozi).
