A New Genus and Species of Flightless Longhorned Beetle from Central America (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae)

Abstract

An undescribed genus and species of flightless longhorned beetle, Apteralcidion lapierrei new genus, new species, in the subfamily Lamiinae, has been collected from giant thistle, Cirsium subcoriaceum, at high elevations in Costa Rica and Panama. This new taxon appears most-closely related to genera in the tribe Acanthocini.
