A new species, Anthrenus (Anthrenus) sexmaculatus Holloway and Herrmann (Coleoptera: Dermestidae: Megatominae) from Turkmenistan is described and compared with A. indicus Kadej and Háva, 2007, A. latefasciatus Reitter, 1892, and A. delicatus Kiesenwetter, 1851, the three most likely confounding species because of geographical overlap and external similarity. Images of the habitus, ventrites, antenna, aedeagus, and sternite IX are presented. Anthrenus sexmaculatus is the twenty-ninth Palaearctic Anthrenus pimpinellae (Fabricius, 1775) group species to be described.
