Abstract

We explored the critical role institutions play in shaping the health and wellness of Latine first-generation collegiate communities. To understand how higher education institutions support college students’ wellness, we examined how higher education systems and structures contribute to the educational outcomes and overall well-being of Latine college students. Using a culturally inclusive and holistic framework, our findings highlight the experiences of eight self-identifying Latine students focused on resources, challenges, and demands they encountered as undergraduate students. Our research informs institutional strategies and provides policy recommendations that enhance and improve health equity for Latine students at colleges and universities.
