Abstract

Fertilizer which generated NH[sub3] was detrimental to Criconemoides xenoplax grown in the greenhouse. The fertilizer was lethal to the nematodes in vitro only when it was accompanied by urease-positive bacteria or partially purified urease. The detrimental action of the fertilizer-urease mixture was ntore rapitt at pH 8 than at pH 7. Key Words: Ring nematotles, urea.
