About the Journal
The Journal of Learning Engineering (JoLE) is a Diamond Open Access, open peer-reviewed journal concerned with critically examining the intersection of research and practice as it pertains to the applied integration of the learning sciences, learning design, learning technology, data analytics, and systems thinking to improve learner outcomes.
While the "integrative" nature of learning engineering makes it a very dynamic field, this convergence of principles generates an expansive, interconnected web of information that requires care to articulate and understand. For this reason, the JoLE team has developed a Learning Engineering Primer to provide a light framing and set of terms for authors to consider while preparing their manuscript(s) for submission.

Origin Story & Modus Operandi: JoLE is an independent, community-driven project founded and run by scholars and practitioners across a variety of organizations, including K-20 education, workforce, and military.
