The efficacies of lambda-cyhalothrin and cyfluthrin were evaluated against bloodfed adult Aedes aegypti in
cages and 4th-instar larvae placed in containers in a housing estate endemic of dengue/dengue haemorrhagic
fever (DHF) in Kuala Lumpur. The eggs and larval populations of Aedes species (Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus)
in nature were monitored weekly during the study period. Both lambda-cyhalothrin and cyfluthrin had shown
adulticidal effects. However, lambda-cyhalothrin had greater larvicidal effect than cyfluthrin.
