Aerosol Droplet Correction Factors for Mosquito Adulticides: A review and modifications to the focal length change method utilizing Teflon® coated microscope slides

Abstract

The size of insecticidal aerosol droplets applied for adult mosquito control effects treatment area coverage, impingement and control of mosquitoes, non-targets and spray cost. A method for determination of correction factors for insecticidal aerosols impinged on Teflon® coated microscope slides is discussed with modifications and useful tools to reduce variability included. A reference table of correction factors for aerosol droplets of insecticides and formulations used in mosquito control is presented.
