Sediment Dynamics, Deposition and Erosion in Temperate Salt Marshes

Abstract

The following six papers concern aspects of sediment dynamics in coastal marshes and represent one of the products of a three-day symposium on 'Sediment dynamics, deposition and erosion in temperate salt marshes'. The meeting, held in Cocodrie, Louisiana in April 1993, was organized under the auspices of the International Geographical Union Commission on Coastal Systems and attracted a truly international audience. Attending were over forty coastal scientists representing 11 U.S. states as well as U.K., the Netherlands, Canada and Denmark. Over a third of the registrants were from outside of the U.S.
