Abstract

Selection of instruments for coastal oceanographic measurements is difficult. Few people involved with coastal engineering have the experience to make informed decisions about which gage will work best under their particular circumstances. Consideration of 8 few general characteristics of gage types will help in the selection of the most appropriate gage for a data collection effort.
