Abstract

Results are presented from a one year study of Orio inlet on the north coast of Spain. The objective of this study was to design civil works which could solve navigational problems at the inlet entrance. Field measurement, physical models, and a mathematical transport model were used to achieve this objective. Three groins were planned in order to guarantee an established draught and a low wave energy along the inlet entrance.
