Late Holocene Geology of the Marathon Plain (Greece)

Abstract

A drill hole study in the eastern part of the Marathon Plain demonstrates late Holocene coastal changes. The ackswamp in the floodbasin of the Haradros River showed complex sedimentary record and the results are represented in profiles and fence diagrams. Radiocarbon dates and analysis of sedimentary environments provide a paleogeographic synthesis.
