Days, Weeks, Months
A Pathography
Abstract
This piece recounts the arrival, resuscitation, and recovery of a patient that survived cardiac arrest. From the arrival to the ED via EMS to the catheterization procedure and week-long recovery, I had the opportunity to witness and support this man through the emotional and physical pain that accomopany cardiac arrest. This medical narrative is an important piece that healthcare providers should be aware of to better care for patients with similar ailments. This is my personal reflection of witnessing these events and how it has impacted me and my future career in Emergency Medicine.
