Abstract

I took this photo in December 2008, while hanging out of a train that was racing toward (and was only a few miles from) the southernmost point of the Indian Subcontinent -- Kanyakumari, India.  Kanyakumari lies at the confluence of the Indian Ocean, the Bay of Bengal, and the Arabian Sea.  Mahatma Ghandi's ashes were scattered into the sea at Kanyakumari.  In 1959, while on a pilgrimedge to India, the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. swam in the waters of Kanyakumari.
