Abstract

Nexter 75 WP is a broad-spectrum miticide that is effective in controlling citrus rust mite, Phyllocoptruta oleivora (Ashmead), pink citrus rust mite, Aculops pelekassi (Keifer), Texas citrus mite, Eutetranychus banksi (McGregor), citrus red mite, Panonychus citri (McGregor), and false spider mites in the genus Brevipalpus on Florida citrus. Results of handgun and airblast sprayer field trials at different spray volumes demonstrate effectiveness of the product alone in controlling six plant feeding mite pests. Nexter 75 WP in combination with petroleum oil was shown to reduce residual activity of the miticide. The copper hydroxide (Kocide) formulation appears to be more disruptive in combination with Nexter and petroleum oil than in combination with copper sulfate.
