Abstract
Three field studies were conducted to determine the influence of N fertilization and drip-irrigation rates on strawberry (Fragaria ananassa Duch.) cultivars. Strawberry cultivars were 'Winter Dawn', 'Strawberry Festival', and 'Ventana'. N rates were 60, 75, and 90 lb/acre/season (0.4, 0.5, and 0.6 lb/ acre/day) in 2003 and 2004, and 60, 90, and 120 lb/acre/season (0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 lb/acre/day) in 2005, and irrigation rates were 6,534, 8,712, 10,890, and 13,068 gal/acre/week (60, 80, 100, and 120 gal/100 ft/week or 5.2, 6.9, 8.6, and 10.3 acre-inch/acre/season). In 2003, only cultivars had an effect on marketable yields per month and total season. However, in 2004 and 2005, N rates had positive influence on total marketable yield of 'Strawberry Festival', but not on the other two cultivars. There was no significant irrigation rate effect on strawberry yield in any of the trials.
