Effects of Biostimulants on Potato Growth and Production

Abstract

The study was conducted to investigate the effects of individual biostimulants on potato (cv. ‘Atlantic’) growth and yield. Five different biostimulants including CP1, CP2, BS, CP2+BS, and Competitor plus water as the control were foliar-applied at two different stages: 30, and 55 days after plating. Competitor and CP2 significantly increased yield, photosynthetic activity, leaf greenness and nitrate concentration in leaf petioles. Statistically, Competitor and CP2
showed the greatest augmentation in above mentioned attributes. Based on the findings of this study, application of Competitor or CP2 enhances nitrogen use efficiency and increases tuber yield for potato production.
