First report of Aulacaspis yasumatsui (Hemiptera: Diaspididae) in Mexico

We report the discovery of Aulacaspis yasumatsui Takagi (Hemiptera: Diaspididae) in Chiapas State near the Guatemala–Mexico border. This cycad pest presents a potentially serious threat to the many cycads species native to Mexico.

Este es el primer reporte de Aulacaspis yasumatsui Takagi (Hemiptera: Diaspididae) en la frontera sur de México. Esta plaga podría representar una grave amenaza para las especies de cícadas nativas de México.
