Abstract

Philogenia strigilis n. sp. from northwestern Honduras extends the range of the genus more than 600 km to the north. The male has a remarkably simple superior appendage unlike any other species in Central America, but reminiscent of P. boliviana from Bolivia. The male inferior appendage and the female hind lobe of the prothorax both resemble these structures on P. augusti from Panama.
