Abstract

Fostering a strong sense of community, building meaningful teacher-student relationships, and increasing student engagement are essential for creating a positive and productive learning environment. One approach that has gained attention for supporting these aspects is the implementation of morning meeting. This is a structured daily gathering that encourages students to share, reflect, and connect before starting their academic tasks. This action research study explored the impact of daily morning meeting on students' sense of community, connection to their teacher, and overall engagement in learning. By examining how these meetings influence students' feelings of belonging, participation, and motivation, this research aimed to determine whether morning meeting serves as an effective tool for enhancing both social-emotional development and academic engagement. Through student surveys and observations, this study provided insights into the role of morning meeting as an instructional routine for a more inclusive and engaged classroom culture.
